The SA Teen Entrepreneur Foundation was formed in 2011, and works with learners from high schools across South Africa to foster and develop a spirit of enterprise development.
The programme was established out of a need to sufficiently equip learners with the requisite skills to start their own businesses following high school in an attempt to address the extremely high rates of youth unemployment.
The programme is activated through the formation of Entrepreneur Societies in schools, where learners and their teachers develop innovative business models aimed at addressing a need in their communities.
According to Founder and Director, Lydia Zingoni, the long-term objective is for these business models to become sustainable and financially viable over time.
